We have geared this program specifically to the "unique"
attention span of 3-5 year old children. The confidence and
discipline your child develops now will stick with them for life,
and they will become unstoppable in everything they do!
Goals of this Unique Program:
1. Develop social skills. One of the main focuses of our Tiny
Tigers is to promote studentís social skills with other children
and adults. Students learn to show respect for others with
bowing, and to say encouraging comments to others. They lean
to work and talk with adult teachers and helpers, and to
introduce themselves to others. Students also work on being
partners with others. Social skills are also developed through
playing group games, and learning to follow instructions.
2. Develop motor skills. Every activity we do in classes has a
definite purpose. While the students are having fun with games
and relays, they are also developing motor skills appropriate
for their age. This includes coordination skills, right and left
side development, flexibility, muscle strength, timing, speed
drills, mobility skills, etc. Tae Kwon Do is one of the best
sports for overall development, and the coordination, strength,
balance, and other skills transfer easily to other sports as well!
3. Promote self discipline. While we do make classes fun and
exciting, there are also times when Tae Kwon Do requires work
and focus to learn. This is where self discipline is gradually
developed in our students: through practice, repetition, and
memorization. In addition to physical self control, our students
also learn how to control their emotions and behavior in class
and at home.
4. Develop learning skills. The learning process is
multifaceted. Learning involves the combination of mental,
physical, and emotional aspects. Listening skills, following
directions, becoming aware of one's body and how it moves in
space...these are all skills that our students learn through our
supportive and encouraging instruction techniques.
5. Teach child safety. During classes, we also cover rules to
follow when around strangers, the correct way to talk on the
phone or answer the door, our basic self defense techniques,
and much more. Our goal is to teach these concepts in a nonthreatening
environment through games, discussion and
practice, with the comfort of parental involvement and trustful
6. Develop self confidence. You might consider the
development of self confidence and self esteem as the
culmination of all of the above points. Every Tae Kwon Do
student has their own specific goals and desires. Our classes are
structured to allow students to achieve mini goals, and build
confidence. Students learn to apply this learning strategy not
just in Tae Kwon Do training, but in all aspects of life.
